MAIN APPLICATIONS

It is the only Fire Damper in the market especially designed for application in exhaust pipes of air derived from food cooking, always saturated with fat and/or soot and usually flammable, being developed on the basis of our long experience in the manufacturing of air de-polluting equipment for restaurant kitchens and others alike..

TECHNICAL STANDARDS

The project development complies with all pertinent technical standards and mainly the new ABNT Standard no. 14.518 specifically covering Safety and Specifications for Mechanical Exhaustion Systems for Kitchens Exhaust Hoods.

DESIGN

The design of our "DCFG" type Fire Break Damper primarily considered the NON-EXISTENCE of any device or part in its interior which might impair air flow or provoke the accumulation of grease and/or soot. Also, in order to facilitate maintenance services, ALL activating devices are located in the external part of DCFG. To facilitate internal cleaning, the DCFG is fully removable, being equipped with flanges for coupling to ducts, which may have an asbestos seal gasket, turning the group formed by DCFG and the PIPES fully sealed to flame propagation.

CONSTRUCTION

The whole DCFG is fully built in #14 black carbon steel plates, complying with current Standards and Legislation and resulting in a totally fire resistant device. Its Sealing Plate, once closed, is housed in a peripheral tappet fully sealing the passage of the exhausted air from the inlet to the outlet. In order to be high temperature resistant, the Plate is built in the shape of a steel plate sandwich with an isolating mineral fiber filling, preventing the flame propagation beyond their point of origin.

OPERATION
The DCFG activation can be done in two distinctive and more usual ways: ELECTRICALLY - by means of a solenoid which receives a signal issued by a thermostat installed in the interior of the pipe, or MECHANICALLY - which uses an electric fuse element. Both ways RAPIDLY unlock the internal Seal Plate existing in DCFG, which propelled by a highly resistant spring, reaches a closing position whereby a special safety lock maintains it fixed.
