GAS WASHER FOR VERTICAL MOUNTING The air exhausted from
the exhauster hoods will enter the Gas Washer, will pass through a flow
rectifier located at the entrance which will distribute it through the inside
of the body where a series of special pulverizing nozzles directed against
the air flow, inject water under high pressure, guaranteeing high atomization
and coverage of all the internal perimeter of the body of the Gas Washer,
thus capturing all the particles which are collected in a tank where the
water is re-circulated after passing through a filter. After passing through high efficiency
droplet eliminators the air, already
free of polluting elements, and pushed by the exhauster, can be discharged
through the outlet and directly into the outside atmosphere. The water circulation
tank shall have a drain for its cleaning and a siphon system for the
polluting particles which will be conducted to a coupled grease trap, causing
the solid and floating effluents to concentrate and allow manual cleaning
with no need to stop the Gas Washer and, consequently, the mechanical exhaust
system. The Gas Washer shall
optionally have a point for a Device of automatic addition of non-foaming, biodegradable grease detergent. It should also have an
automatic system for the programming of the cycles for heating the tank water
to dissolve the solid elements and provide clearing of the pulverizing
nozzles and internal piping. This
system should have a programmable timer and a thermostat for control of the
cycles and heating temperature, with a view to the economy of electric
energy. All the components of this
system should be armored and appropriate for the safety of the operators
against shocks. The timer and thermostat should have visible and adjustable
scales to satisfy the specific needs of each exhaust system. . The air speed inside
the body of the Gas Washer should not be higher than 3.5 m/s, guaranteeing a
maximum loss of 5% of water by drag or evaporation. All the internal
components of the Gas Washer should be metallic in compliance with the ABNT
Technical Standard 14.518 for the prevention of fires and to avoid its
propagation, which implies the total absence of any plastic materials in the
exhaust air flow inside the Gas Washer. The body and all the
internal components of the Gas Washer should be built with totally welded
galvanized steel plates with minimum gage
# 18 covered with two coats of paint for external finishing and two
coats of high grade galvanized paint for internal protection on all the surfaces.
The water circulation
pump should have outflow and pressure compatible with the pulverizing nozzles
with rotor and mechanical seal in bronze, which should be connected to the
piping by joints having brass screen suction filters easily removable for
cleaning. The Gas Washer should have
at least two manhole covers for internal cleaning and at least six interchangeable positions for air inlet and
outlet, permitting perfect adaptation to the pipes and to the assembly
location. A glass window for
inspection of the pulverizing nozzles should be provided on one of the
sides. All
the electric components of the Gas Washer should be supplied so as to permit
perfect adaptation to the electric supply systems of the benefited property.
